DEVELOPMENT OF PERSONALIZED MEDICINE AND PHARMACY AS A STRATEGIC RESOURCE IN THE PREVENTION OF SOCIALLY SIGNIFICANT DISEASES

Abstract
In the context of the growth of non-communicable diseases, which are the leading cause of morbidity in the population, the importance of preventive approaches in healthcare is increasing. This article is devoted to the analysis of the role of personalized medicine and pharmacy as a strategic resource in the prevention of socially significant diseases such as oncological diseases. Modern achievements in the field of genomics, pharmacogenetics, digital technologies and pharmaceutical information are considered, contributing to the transition from a population-based model of healthcare to an individualized one. Based on the conducted research, the necessity of integrating personalized approaches in the field of healthcare and pharmaceutical provision is substantiated.
The aim of the study – to substantiate the role of personalized medicine and pharmacy as a strategic resource in the prevention of socially significant diseases, as well as to determine the conditions and directions for their effective implementation in domestic healthcare practice.
Materials and methods. The study uses a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach, including materials and methods: an analysis of scientific literature for the period 2015-2025 on the topics of personalized medicine, pharmacogenetics and cancer prevention; a systematic and comparative analysis of national and international programs for the introduction of personalized approaches to healthcare; a review of clinical recommendations and pharmacoeconomic studies on the use of personalized therapies in the treatment of socially significant diseases.
The results and their discussion. The scientific validity of the use of personalized approaches in the prevention of socially significant diseases has been confirmed. It has been shown that taking into account genetic markers can reduce the risk of adverse drug reactions by 30-50%. The key function of the pharmaceutical worker in the personalized pharmacy system has been identified, from the interpretation of pharmacogenetic testing data to the individual selection of drug therapy and monitoring of its effectiveness.
Conclusion. Personalized medicine and pharmacy are not only scientifically sound, but also socially and economically feasible directions in the prevention of socially significant diseases and should be considered as a strategic resource in building a sustainable and patient-oriented healthcare model of the future.
