Abstract

The process of physical development, which is a marker of adolescents 'health is influenced by abnormalities of the thyroid gland and diseases of the upper digestive tract.
The aim of the study – was to compare indices of physical development of adolescents with diseases of the upper digestive tract in Association with pathology of the thyroid gland.
Material and research methods. The study involved 104 children aged between 10 and 17 years from diseases of the upper digestive tract, which were divided into 2 groups depending on the presence of thyroid pathology. The main group consisted of 33 teenagers with diseases of the upper digestive tract and changes in thyroid status of various kinds (changes in the structure of the body or hormonal profile). The control group was represented by 71 teen with isolated course of astrobiology. All patients assessed physical (length, weight, body mass index) and sexual development, carried out statistical processing of the results.
Results and discussion. The analysis of mean values of length and body weight of adolescents of both groups revealed no significant differences, while the assessment of the rate of physical development outlined their deviations in the form of high and low development among adolescents 10-14 years old both sexes of the main group, and young men 15-17 years old the same group. In the comparison group registered a predominantly normative values of physical development, except for boys of 10-14 years, showing deviations similar to the main group.
