THE CLINICAL CASE OF SUBCLINICAL YERSINIOSIS WITH HYPEREOSINOPHILIA IN A PREGNANT WOMAN: FEATURES OF MANAGEMENT AND FAVORABLE OUTCOME

Abstract
The article presents a clinical case of yersiniosis, a subclinical form with severe eosinophilia, of combined etiology (immune and drug), detected in a patient at 7-8 weeks of pregnancy. Anamnestic, clinical, laboratory, and functional studies, the course, outcome of pregnancy, and the condition of the fetus and newborn were evaluated. At 7 weeks of gestation, the pregnant woman was admitted to the Donetsk Republican Center for Maternal and Child Health because of a threatened miscarriage. After examination and consultation with specialist in infectious diseases, the diagnosis is «Yersiniosis, a subclinical form with pronounced eosinophillia of combined etiology (immune and drug)». This pregnancy ended with an urgent pathological birth by cesarean section at 38 weeks. A live full-term male fetus was born, weighing 3000.0 g, 53 cm long, with an Apgar score of 7/7/8 points. The child was admitted to the neonatal unit and discharged home on the 5th day. Yersiniosis during pregnancy can lead to miscarriage, premature birth, maternal sepsis and congenital pathologies of the fetus. It is important to identify the pathogen and, if Yersinia enterocolitica is detected in a pregnant woman, provide adequate and timely treatment. Patients should be informed about measures to prevent intestinal infections.
