OVARIAN HEMANGIOMA (CLINICAL CASE)

Abstract
Vascular ovarian tumors are extremely rare. They are considered unusual due to the rich vascular supply of the ovaries. Ovarian hemangiomas may occur in association with generalized hemangiomatosis or as an isolated neoplasm. These tumors are often asymptomatic. However, they may be associated with thrombocytopenia, acute abdominal pain, vomiting, ascites, and elevated CA125 levels and may mimic ovarian cancer. The cavernous type of ovarian hemangioma is the most common. We present a clinical case of a 70-year-old woman with a long-standing ovarian tumor, which was eventually confirmed by pathological examination as a hemangioma of the right ovary.
