ENDOMETRIOSIS OF THE RETROVAGINAL DIVISION AND VAGINA WITH PPENDICUS INVOLVEMENT (CLINICAL CASE)

Abstract
Endometriosis remains one of the most complex and controversial problems in modern gynecology, characterized by a chronic course, infiltrative growth, and multi-organ damage. The literature is much less likely to cover the issue of combined damage to the appendix in endometriosis of the retrovaginal area. Appendicular endometriosis is a «clinical chameleon»: it mimics the picture of chronic appendicitis, adhesive disease, or pelvic pain without clear localization, which leads to delayed diagnosis, unjustified antibiotic therapies, and even peritonitis in case of perforation of the appendix. The presented article describes a rare clinical case of infiltrative endometriosis with involvement of the retrovaginal septum, vagina, and appendix.
