Abstract

The article presents a modern view on the application of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols in operative gynecology. Historical aspects of the concept development, its pathophysiological rationale, and key components at the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative stages are discussed. The advantages of implementing ERAS protocols, including reduced hospital length of stay, lower incidence of postoperative complications, and cost-effectiveness, are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the adaptation of protocols for various gynecological procedures – from benign pathology to gynecologic oncology surgeries. Current directions in the development of the concept, including telemedicine support and optimization of pain management, are highlighted.
