Abstract

An overview of the current literature on a common gynecological problem – omission and prolapse of the internal genitalia is presented. Pelvic organ prolapse is diagnosed in 3-31% of patients of working age, and the vivid clinical picture is accompanied by the appearance of physical discomfort, significantly limiting performance. Among people aged < 50 years, the occurrence of psycho-emotional disorders caused by a forced decline in social and sexual life is not uncommon. Interest in the problem is justified due to its frequent recurrence, requiring repeated surgical corrections, which are performed according to literature data in 38% of cases.
This article discusses the results of comparative studies of surgical correction of pelvic organ prolapse. According to the information available in the literature, the modern urogynecological service offers a wide range of different methods for correcting pelvic organ prolapse. Surgical techniques and their modifications have a diverse nature of actions, however, restrictions on performing a number of high-tech operations using mesh prostheses prevent the creation of a single algorithm of actions for specialists.
